Planning Applications

Planning applications have to be submitted to Mid Sussex District Council who then asks the Parish Council for their views on each application. It is rare for our opinions to differ, but occasionally Planning Law can dictate a decision which is not necessarily in line with this Councils view. We can take into account the effect on neighbours, the village, traffic flow, suitability of the design and materials to be used, the conservation area and High Weald Area of Outstanding Beauty. The Parish Council takes its responsibility very seriously in commenting on planning applications. Members of the public may come along to a Council meeting and express their views at the start of the meeting in “public time”.

If you are thinking of submitting an application please look at the policies of the Neighbourhood Plan and requirements of the Village Design Statement first.
